CSSSO's Structure

The California Ski and Snowboard Safety Organization is a non-profit California corporation based in San Francisco. The Organization’s Board initially is composed of uncompensated Trustees, including individuals with ski and snowboard safety expertise as well as members with California government relations’ experience and public interest education and advocacy backgrounds. Dan Gregorie, the founder, is an experienced corporate executive who will provide leadership and management for the Organization until such time a paid executive leadership and management team is brought on board.

The Organization seeks to enter into cooperative and collaborative relationships with California ski resorts to improve and publish guidelines in an ongoing effort to ensure the safety, protection and well being of winter mountain sport enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. The Organization will seek and post on its Web site the safety policies and procedures of resorts. In an advisory capacity, independent ski safety experts will review and assess resort safety policies and procedures using national best practices as their standard. These assessments will be shared with the ski resorts. The correction of deficiencies or improvements will be noted on the Organization Web site.
